from 62 reviewsInteresting. Quotes I wasn't familiar with but that are relevant to Christians. Well explained and well written.
Good book. Well written and unusual kind of book to read. I like it.
This book really slowed me down in a good way. I found myself reading a single quote and then just sitting with it, sometimes longer than I expected. The reflections help you understand why the words matter without overexplaining them, and that made everything feel calmer and clearer. It’s especially helpful when you feel unsettled or stuck in your own thoughts and need a bit of perspective rather than advice.
What I liked most is how gentle and grounded it feels. It doesn’t push you to analyze yourself endlessly or chase self-improvement. Instead, it helps you notice patterns and truths in a way that feels honest and rooted in faith. I kept coming back to certain pages, and the words stayed with me long after I closed the book. It feels like a quiet companion for reflection, prayer, and understanding yourself more kindly before God.
Self examination Christian style. I love it! Good book written by a Christian for Christians. I haven't ever come across this kind of thinking before, but it makes perfect sense. It's a good read that has you nodding in agreement all the way through. I feel much better off for having read this book and all for a few dollars. What's not to like?
Excellent book. I couldn't put it down. The chapters are short and to the point, which I like, and there are exercises to do if you'd like to put theory into practice. Most of all it's an eye opener of a book and a really practical eye opener at that! Lots of identifying the problem and then giving the solution. You don't get many self-help books that are specifically for Christians, so this is a refreshing read. All in all, it's a very useful book that has the potential to completely change your life.
Love this book! I read the 30 Day Reset book and it was an eye opener. This companion to that book is great. You could read this without reading the first book, no problem, and it would be a great resource, but the two together are dynamite. The quotes are really interesting, but the author's point of view on the quotes is fascinating. Great book. Do yourself a favor and buy a copy. You'll be glad you did.
This book felt like a steady presence during a time when everything else felt shaky. It doesn’t rush grief or try to explain it away. Instead, it gives space to sit with the pain while gently reminding you that God is still near, even when faith feels fragile and questions feel heavy.
What I appreciated most is how easy it is to return to. You can open it anywhere, read one verse and reflection, and stop. Some days the words brought comfort straight away, other days they just sat quietly with me, and that was enough. It feels less like something you work through and more like a companion you keep close when you’re carrying loss and need something calm, faithful, and reassuring.
This book has been really helpful at the end of the day, especially when my mind won’t switch off. Evenings are when everything seems to catch up with me, and reading one quote and reflection helps me slow down and let the day settle instead of carrying it all into the night.
What I like most is how calm and reassuring it feels. It doesn’t try to fix anything or tie the day up neatly. It simply helps me hand things over to God and rest a bit easier. I’ve found it makes a real difference to how I go to sleep, and it’s become a quiet habit I genuinely look forward to.
This book has become an easy part of my mornings, especially on days when I don’t feel particularly calm or focused when I wake up. Reading one quote and the short reflection helps me slow down and get my bearings before the day starts pulling at me. It doesn’t take much time, but it makes a real difference to how I begin the day.
What I like most is how steady and encouraging it feels. Some mornings the words gently challenge me, other mornings they simply remind me that God is already present and faithful. It sets a tone of trust rather than rush, and I’ve noticed that starting the day this way makes everything else feel a bit more grounded.
This book felt gentle in the best possible way. It understands how grief seeps into everything and how hard it can be to find words, even when faith is still there. I appreciated that it doesn’t rush comfort or try to explain pain away. The quotes feel carefully chosen, like voices that truly know loss, and reading them felt less like being taught and more like being accompanied.
What stayed with me is how quietly hopeful it is. The reflections are simple and steady, giving you something to hold onto without demanding anything from you. Some pages brought comfort straight away, others didn’t land until later, which felt very true to how grief actually works. It doesn’t promise relief, but it does keep pointing back to resurrection in a way that feels trustworthy and kind. It’s the sort of book you keep close and return to when the ache comes back.
This book feels like sitting with wise Christian voices who’ve walked the road of faith long before us and still have something meaningful to say. I loved how the quotes come from different centuries and experiences, yet speak so clearly into everyday struggles with doubt, hope, and perseverance. It reminded me that faith has always been lived in real, often difficult circumstances, not ideal ones.
The short reflections make it easy to slow down and really think about what each quote means for your own life with God. Nothing feels rushed or over-explained. It creates space for prayer and quiet thought, which made the wisdom sink in more deeply. I found myself coming back to it often, especially when I wanted something thoughtful and steady rather than quick answers.
This book really surprised me in the best way. It made Scripture feel close and alive again, not rushed or overwhelming. The verses are beautifully chosen, and the reflections helped me slow down and actually sit with what I was reading instead of skimming familiar lines. I found myself reaching for it when I felt anxious or unsure, and it gave me something steady and grounding to hold onto.
What I loved most is how easy it is to return to. It works just as well in quiet prayer time as it does in the middle of a hard day. The encouragement doesn’t fade once you close the book, it lingers and shapes how you think and pray. It feels like a gentle, faithful companion that keeps pointing you back to what really matters.
I didn’t expect this book to hit as deeply as it did. The Christian Attachment Book put words to things I’ve felt for a long time but never knew how to explain, especially that strange mix of being around people yet still feeling alone. It doesn’t rush in with fixes or positive talk. It starts by telling the truth about how disconnected so many of us feel, even in church, even in faith, and that honesty hooked me straight away.
What really stood out is how clearly it connects our relationships with people to our relationship with God. The way it explains attachment styles made so much sense, without turning them into labels or excuses. I could see myself in the patterns it described, and instead of feeling judged, I felt understood. It helped me see how old ways of coping still shape how I love, trust, and even pray, and why closeness can feel hard even when it’s what I want most.
This book feels deep but not heavy, thoughtful without being cold. It’s the kind of book you keep thinking about after you’ve put it down. It gave me language, clarity, and real hope that connection can grow again, slowly and honestly. Not through big emotional moments, but through staying present and learning to trust a little more over time. It’s one of the most meaningful Christian books I’ve read in a long while.
Great book of quotes that are well explained and really make you think. Very informative reading. Never seen a book like this before.
Great book. Really hits home that Christians relate differently than non Christians. I like Asher's books and this one is a very interesting read.
